Skin Temple is please to announce that we now offer Ultherapy Skin Tightening!
Ultherapy is a unique non-surgical treatment from the USA that uses focussed ultrasound technology to create multi-layered heating effects throughout the various skin layers. These heating effects cause gradual skin tightening to occur, as the body responds to the heat by creating new collagen. Skin tightening helps to gradually lift loose skin in the upper, mid and lower face, including the jowl areas, as well as the neck and decolletage areas.
Who is it for?
Ultherapy can be used by anyone concerned about skin laxity, but is typically appropriate for those over the age of 35years, and is especially useful for anyone who wishes to avoid face lifting surgery but seeks a natural looking skin tightening effect.
Ultherapy delivers focused ultrasound energy to the same foundational layer typically addressed by surgeons during cosmetic surgery—without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. This energy initiates the body’s natural response to stimulate the growth of new collagen.
The use of live ultrasound imaging allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue targeted during the treatment to ensure the energy is deposited to where it will be most beneficial.

What’s so special about Ultherapy?
Ultherapy addresses the deep layers of the face that are typically only targeted by invasive plastic surgery, known as the SMAS, without having to resort to general anaesthesia, cutting or stitching of the skin. By utilising the ultrasound technology, the user is able to visualise on the monitor the depth of treatment as it is being done, and can ensure that the appropriate depth is used in each treatment area.
Will Ultherapy give the same result as a facelift?
Whilst Ultherapy results are significantly more subtle and natural looking than a facelift, it is often sought by those who wish to avoid surgery or seek to complement the effects of previous surgery.
How long does a treatment of Ultherapy take?
Treatments can typically take from 30-90mins, depending on the area being treated.
Will I need to take time off following Ultherapy treatment?
One of the greatest advantages of Ultherapy is that there is usually absolutely no downtime at all, with patients being able to resume all *normal work and leisure activities immediately following the treatment! *In special circumstances, you may be given other post care instructions.
What does the Ultherapy treatment feel like?
Patients will typically receive topical anaesthetic and have an option to use inhaled anaesthetic if necessary to ensure full comfort throughout the procedure. The Ultherapy treatment delivers multiple fine lines of heat into the deeper layers of the skin, which most people tolerate easily with the anaesthetic provided. As a medical practitioner, Dr Teska is able to tailor the anaesthetic required to the individual if necessary.
When will I see results? How long will the results last for?
The production of your body’s own collagen typically takes about 3-4 months to occur, and the amount of collagen produced will vary from patient to patient, as will the ongoing aging processes that will determine how long the effect lasts for. Most Ultherapy patients will have a noticeable effect for approximately 2 years after the treatment, with some patients choosing to have small “top up” treatments done to problem areas annually.
How many Ultherapy treatments will I need?
Most patients only require one initial Ultherapy treatment to see a significant effect. In those who would otherwise be surgical facelift candidates, a second full treatment may be required.
Younger patients may also opt for a smaller, more limited annual treatment. The beauty of Ultherapy is that treatment programmes are completely customised for the individual!
Are there any side effects?
As with any procedure, this can depend on the individual. The more common side effects are really quite mild, and include isolated areas of transient redness, swelling, tingling or tenderness. Other, less common post procedural side effects can include temporary bruising or numbness. Other much rarer side effects are possible and will be discussed in full during your consultation.
